Al-Shawawreh

Al-Shawawreh is a small and spacious village located next to Za’atara, in full view of the stand-out cone-shaped hill of Herodium which dominates the skyline. Agriculture is the main economic drive in the village, which consists of simple yet beautiful stone homes spread across a sparse, rocky hilltop. The construction of a new gated community was also well underway in 2015, providing encouragement that this village can grow and expand despite being under occupation.
