al sawahreh palestine

Al-Sawahreh

Al-Sawahreh is a small town neighbouring Abu Dis in the Jerusalem Governorate. The town is spread over several small hills with just a couple of small shops located on the main street. It shares schools and facilities with the nearby village of Ash-Sheikh Sa’d.

Population: 5,210 (2006).

What To Do

The most prominent sight in Al-Sawahreh is – like so many villages – its beautifully constructed mosque. In this case, the bright green dome makes it stand out especially. Otherwise, there are some very old houses which have stood the test of time to varying degrees.

Where To Eat

There are shops selling cold drinks and snacks, but in the nearby bigger cities of Bethlehem and Jerusalem there are plenty of dining options.

Where To Stay

The cities of Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Ramallah are all within reach, with a great range of accommodation on offer.
