What To Do
The newer town area has many different shops and amenities, but the real beauty is to be found in the Old City up on the hill above. Here the wonderful, historic architecture has been restored in places, while elsewhere it is crumbling and overcome with swathes of cactus, fig and olive trees. The remains of columns, as well as graves in the rocks, have been found in this area.
Ornate mosques, so typical of the West Bank, punctuate the skyline of this eclectic town as you gaze down from the lofty Old City.
