Yamun, Palestine

Yamun

Yamun is the biggest town in Jenin governorate, famed for its agriculture and specifically the production of olives and figs. Leafy residential zones cluster around a rather hectic town centre, where mini markets and falafel joints vie for attention.

Located at the northern tip of the West Bank, Yamun is just 9km west of the bustling city of Jenin. Many of the town’s older residents will remember having to take their water every day from the spring in the valley below Yamun, not all that long ago. The elegant main cemetery is located atop a hill, from which the views are spectacular.
