Coffee and tea are the traditional beverages of choice for adults at gatherings and refreshing homemade fruit juices for children. The coffee in question is normally spiced with cardamom and unsweetened. Within the scorching summer months, rose and mint water drinks provide the perfect refreshing touch to a hot day. As a predominantly Muslim country alcohol is not on every street corner. However, for non-religious or Christian Palestinians a popular alcoholic drink is either beer or Arak, an anise-flavoured drink which is normally mixed with water.
